This is going to be the four ski, two board option, but it is also available in two, three, and six ski versions, so you can find one that fits best for you. If you have skis and snowboards and you don't wanna keep them in the car, maybe they're too big or if you just don't want icy, snowy messes damaging the inside of your car, a roof rack carrier like this is a great way to get them up on top of the roof and where you need them to go securely, so let's check out how they work. Basically, we're just gonna press this large button at the end of each set of the carrier to open up the jaws. That will let us get to our gear, you'll see on the top and the bottom, there is this rubberized molding, which just gonna keep our gear secure, but also, keep it from sliding back and forth while we're driving. more

But in general, if you're looking for a way to get your skis and snowboards where you need them to go, maybe you don't wanna keep them inside the vehicle, they'll get icy and snowy or they're just pretty bulky, a roof rack carrier like this is a great way to get them to the slopes, so let's check out how it works. To open the carrier up, first thing we wanna do is push these buttons. They're a little bit recessed, so you should still be able to get them with your palm, but if you have big gloves or mittens on, it might prove to be a little bit tricky. more

This is the three fat ski or two board version, but there is also a six fat ski, four board version option available. It's a compact carrier that's gonna help you get those skis and snowboards that might be snowy or icy or you don't wanna have in your car, you don't have room for 'em up on your roof and where you need 'em to go. So let's check it out. Looking at how the carrier holds our skis, you could see that it just holds 'em in the jaws which we can open up by pressing these pretty large buttons which you can do with your palm, but they are a little bit recessed compared to some other carriers, so might be a little bit difficult but you should be able to do it with your mittens or your heavy gloves. more

It's just gonna hold your boards or skis in place with these rubberized moldings through these jaws of the actual carrier. On the front here you can see there are very large buttons that you can push, even if you have larger gloves or mittens on in the winter, then you can still get it open again. more

Hey, this is Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima Fresh Track Ski and Snowboard Carrier and how it fits on our 2017 Toyota Rav4. This carrier is capable of holding up to four pairs of skis or two snowboards. So, it's just gonna be a good way to get some of these bigger ski and snowboards that you might not be able to fit, or not want to keep in your car, 'cause they get icy and snowy, up on top of your roof and keep them stable and secure while you're driving. Taking a closer look at the carrier, you can see that there are some pretty large buttons on the outside, so if you do have big gloves on, or mittens when you're actually out in the snow you're gonna be able to get those up with no problem. Additionally, you can see that the molding on the inside is rubberized, so it's soft and it won't damage your actual gear while you're driving. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how the Yakima FreshTrack fits on top of our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, excuse me. So this is gonna be a rooftop ski and snowboard carrier. It's gonna hold your gear in between these two spring-loaded jaws that open up to reveal these large rubber pads on the inside that will grip down on our gear, both protecting it and keeping it still. Now, this method of carrying skis and snowboards is really nice because it's going to be a lot cheaper than a rooftop box, it's gonna be more space effective, and it won't add near as much height to your vehicle. The downside to that though is that your gear is going to be exposed to the elements. more

Rhino Rack Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L- Video

Hi everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Rhino-Rack Ski and Snowboard Carrier on top of our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, that's gonna be a way of carrying your skis and snowboards between these two spring loaded jaws. It's going to be probably my preferred way to carry stuff like this, just because the alternative, a rooftop box, can get very large, very bulky, adds a lot of height to your roof, and they're typically much more expensive than this type of carrier. So if you're really just using it for your skis and snowboard, something like this is a nice option. You've got this thick rubber padding in between to hold your gear in place, protecting it, but also, providing grip so it doesn't shift around. It is lockable so you don't have to worry about people messing with it when you're not around. more

The one that we have here is capable of holding two boards or four pairs of skis. We do also have an option that holds four boards or six pairs of skis as well, and it will double as a fishing rod carrier in the warmer seasons. This carrier is capable of supporting up to 92.6 pounds as long as you're able to fit all of your gear within the actual padded portion of the carrier. As you can see, it doesn't take up the full length of our crossbars either, which is a nice feature because you could get more things on the roof carrier or the roof rack system like maybe a smaller roof basket or a kayak if you have room for that. more

A nice feature that this carrier offers is the ability to push these buttons. Even if you do have some larger mittens on or gloves, just to keep your hands warm, you don't have to take those off and this rubberized molding not only cushions what you have in the actual carrier, but it'll keep it in place as well. more

So this is gonna be a rooftop ski and snowboard carrier that holds your stuff between these two spring loaded jaws. They've got thick rubber padding in there to both protect your gear and provide some grip to it so it doesn't move around when you're going down the road. It's gonna be a nice way to carry your gear in a more cost effective way and it's a lot less bulky than something like a rooftop box. more

This is the four ski, two board option but there is a six ski, four board option as well, and they double as fishing rod holders in the warmer weather seasons, and just a great way to get skis and snowboards where you need 'em to go in the event that you do have a smaller car like the Forte. You don't wanna keep wet and snowy items in the back or in the car itself if they fit, and they probably won't fit in the trunk. So a carrier like this is gonna help you do that. We'll start by pushing these very large buttons on the side which are nice because you can probably do that with larger gloves and mittens in the colder weather seasons which is when you're gonna be using these. more

Hey, it's Ethan at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the SeaSucker ski and snowboard carrier on our 2021 Kia Forte. This ski and snowboard carrier is obviously gonna be a little bit different than some of the other ones you've probably seen primarily because it's held in place by these suction cups but it's still gonna be able to hold up to four pairs of skis or two sets of skis and one snowboard or two snowboards. You might be wondering why you would use this style of carrier rather than just a different sort of average looking ski and snowboard carrier. The main reason might be because you're just having your skis and snowboards traveling with you and you're renting a car for wherever you're going. These can store in your trunk or in the back of your car very easily and they condense as well as the fact that you're not going to have to install crossbars in a roof rack system total. more

This is gonna be a roof mounted carrier that clamps around our crossbars, so you will need a roof rack to make this work, but for me this is one of my preferred ways of carrying skis and snowboards, and it certainly beats just throwing it in the bed of your truck. It's gonna help keep 'em protected between these two spring loaded arms. So, just press the large button on the outside, open it up and we've got these thick rubber pads that are gonna keep our gear nice and protected in there, helping to provide padding, but also grip. more

It's gonna do a number of things, it's going to help protect our gear, but also, keep it gripped. So you can see there's no back and forth movement when I shake the vehicle by the snowboard here, everything's really secure in there. Now, a lot of people like using rooftop boxes to carry their skis and snowboards, because they're enclosed and lockable. more

Hi everyone. Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Grip Ski and Snowboard Carrier on top of our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. A ski and snowboard carrier for your roof is a great way to get some of that gear out of your car and up on top of your vehicle where you've got some more room and you can transport them safely. A lot of people like to use rooftop boxes for this because they are enclosed, but the problem with boxes is that they can get very expensive, they're very bulky and they're hard to store whenever they're not on your roof. This is gonna be a nice low profile solution, much more cost effective, and when it's not on your roof, it's easy to store in the garage and put somewhere out of the way. more
